When I find items that I think may be of interest to readers of this blog I will share them. My first item to share is a recent survey of CHIME (College of Healthcare Management Executives) members regarding Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE). In a similar 2005 survey, one in four survey respondents indicated they had implemented a CPOE system. This year, that number nearly doubled, with 49% of respondents stating they had implemented CPOE at their facilities.

Additional statistics of interest include:

- 17% of CHIME members this year indicated they are implementing CPOE systems.

- 18% reported that their hospital is currently in the process of selecting a CPOE system.

- 16% responded that CPOE technology is not applicable to their organization.

Michael Martineau
eHealth Practice Lead
Branham Group Inc.Michael Martineauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18393747109095742158noreply@blogger.com
